Day 43 – 3/10/15 – Erzurum to Urmia (Iran)

Set out early in the morning to make as much time as possible to cross the border into Iran.

This is what I came across on the way to border.

Line starts for trucks to Iran border this is over 10km from the border.

These guys had BBQ’s and basically setup home on the side of the road. They can sometimes take up to 3 months to get across

Just out of border control

I then stopped just up the road to check out the Sat Nav and I must of had at least 20 people stop and ask is everything ok do I want a tea or anything. It was an overwhelming feeling of kindness from the Iranian people.

Once directions sorted and change of Sat Nav’s, the bike one in the middle of handlebars maps stopped at the end of Turkish border, it was off to Urmia and the guesthouse I had arranged withΒ Overland to Iran.
